In the recent release of SPARCRequest (v1.8.0) on August 30th 2016, we have made some adjustments about service requests, to allow ordering a new service request of the same service, when all the previous requests with the same service has been “Complete” (closed by the service provider).
For example, SPARCDashboard protocol # 10044 has 4 requests: One of them was for a”Community Engagement & Research Consultation” service requested when the study was initiated. It is now marked as “Complete” by the service provider because the consultation was fulfilled some time ago, as shown below, and I cannot “Edit” that request any more (can still “View” it).
Now as my study progresses, I have new questions and want to have another consultation about community engagement. What should I do? Here are the simple steps to follow:
1). Confirm that all the previous Community Engagement requests are all “Complete”. If so, click the “Modify Request” button on SPARCDashboard for the chosen protocol.
2). Add another one of the service into your SPARCRequest shopping cart (either from the search box or from the service catalog).
Notice here that the previous complete Community Request (0002) shows in the cart as not-removable, and the new one (0005) is.
Also, on Step 2B (Visit Calendar) page, the previous (complete) request shows up with pink background with all the fields disabled (non-editable), whereas the new (draft) request is up for editing.
3). Click “Continue” through Step 1-4 pages, and Click “Submit to Start Services” when you are ready for submission. And your new request is on the way!
Hope this tip is helpful to you. Please don’t hesitant to contact us if you have any questions about SPARC.
