Currently, the SlicerDicer tool within Epic is being rolled out only to clinical staff. The slotted go-live for research is 8 September 15. Training classes are currently being developed and will be required to gain access to the tool. Completion of the current CATTS trainings are for clinical providers will not grant access to research users. The fifth annual SCresearch.org Expo, made possible by the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research (SCTR) Institute, is just around the corner on Tuesday, October 6th from 10am-2pm! This celebration of research is your opportunity to engage the public, provide education about your research topic, promote your studies, recruit, and share your results. Over the past few years, thousands of people have attended this event that highlights research contributions by researchers, research teams, research volunteers, and the staff that make research possible.

We will provide you with tables, 2 chairs, tablecloths, and a small goodie bag with some essential “day-of” items. All we ask is that you bring informational resources, and some creative promotional strategies to get the public excited and engaged about research!
The Expo promotes the state-wide, lay-friendly, online recruitment resource SCresearch.org, which a searchable database of currently recruiting clinical trials throughout the state of South Carolina. The Expo is also a great opportunity it is for those involved in research at MUSC to get to know one another and the role we each play in the research process here on campus. For that reason, we also encourage research-related departments and resources to register for a table at the Expo!
In addition to the research-related activities the day of the event, we also have food trucks, door prizes, Zumba classes and TEDxCharleston speakers adding energy and excitement! You do NOT want to miss this! Even if you are not registering a table, please join us at the event to learn more about how MUSC is Changing What’s Possible.
